Mixed Media and Resin on Canvas
A series of 4 pieces each inspired by one of the essential elements. Each piece takes physical examples of the actual element to create a snapshot moment of the element.
The canvas of Fire has been burned away in spots to reveal charcoaled open spaces with matches captured in a still moment before, after or during the cycle of fire. Red resin enraptures parts of the piece to represent the flames frozen in time.
The four pieces use similar techniques to create cohesion of the power of each element. But are individual enough to show the characteristic of each element. All pieces try to focus on the element in a raw, stripped back form.
